It is essential that anyone likely to attend an incident near, in or on water is fully trained in the hazards associated with the various rescue options, and understands that as you increase in the hierarchy of need of the rescue option the risk to individuals increases.
 
Training is given the highest priority in IFRA in order to ensure that all associated teams and personnel operate to IFRA protocols and recognised UK standards.
 
To this end IFRA and Rescue Training International have developed a flood and swiftwater training program which provides training for individuals in order for them to gain Responder, FAST 1 and FAST R2 Technician levels.
